Dear Terry:

Now that I'm back in New York in the middle of gusting winds and 40 degree weather, it seems hardly believable only a few weeks ago I was under crystal blue sky, surrounded by the deserts of Egypt.

It was amazing to see the rapid development surrounding the Egyptian courses, especially at Dreamland, Mirage, and Soma Bay.  I was very impressed with how well kept these three courses were since the perimeter is so dry.  The Mirage proved to be the most challenging in terms of skill, but Royal Valley beat us with the heat. The cold wet towels they provide were the saving grace.  I also loved the landscape there - it was the most desert-like of all we played.  It was more interesting to see the Mena House Golf Course and its proximity to the Pyramids than to actually play it.

Nevertheless, it's quite an experience.  Our caddie, Salah, was a real hoot.  In fact he seems to be a bit of a legend in the Egyptian golf scene - pros at courses as far away as Jolie Ville in Na'ama bay were familiar with him.

The tour leaders at SST did a great job of making sure we were taken care of, most notably Ihab in Cairo.  I'm very glad he was there to take care of reconfirming our Egypt Air flights, as those seemed to change daily!

Thank you again for all your help and expertise. It was an unforgettable experience.  With all the daily changes that occur in Egypt, I imagine your next visit will be much different from your last.

Regards,

Allison Foltz
