9 days/ 8 nights including a 5 day 4 night cruise from Luxor to Aswan, private tours, optional visit to Abu Simbel and more. This tour provides an excellent introduction to the majority of important Pharaonic sites along the Nile valley.  From the Great Pyramids at Giza to the incredible Temples at Abu Simbel you will experience a taste of history found no where else on earth.

Saturday: Arrive Cairo,  be met by our staff who will assist you with clearing immigration and customs.  Transfer to the Mena House hotel or similar. The evening is free.

Sunday: Enjoy a buffet breakfast then our Egyptologist will take you to Memphis, capital of the ancient kingdom, one of ancient Egypt’s most important cities.  Most of its splendors have been destroyed, but the Alabaster Sphinx built in the 19th dynasty still remains, as does a beautifully carved statue of Ramses II.  Then on to Sakkarra with it’s stepped pyramid and Dahshur with the Black  pyramid, the Bent Pyramid and the Red Pyramid (built of red granite brought all the way from Aswan it is open for entry)  Evening free.  (B)

Monday: Breakfast at the hotel then its off to the Pyramids of Giza and the inscrutable Sphinx.  From here on to the Egyptian museum followed by a trip to the Khan el Khalili bazaar where bargains abound. Transfer to the Ramses station to board your overnight first class sleeper train to Luxor which departs about 7: 45PM (B,D on the train)

Tuesday:  Arrive Luxor about 5AM, be met by our staff who will transfer you to the Presidential line 5 star cruise ship.  Have lunch on board then visit the Temple of Karnak and the Temple of Luxor  Afternoon tea, Dinner and evening entertainment. O/N Luxor (B on train, L, D)

Wednesday:  Cross to the West Bank and the Necropolis of Thebes.  Visit the valley of the kings, valley of the queens, Queen Hatshepsut’sTemple, the Colossi of Memnon.  Return to the ship and sail to Esna, cross the river lock and proceed to Edfu. Evening entertainment. (B,L,D)

Thursday:  Visit the Temple of Horus then sail to Kom Ombo.  Visit the temple shared by two Gods, Sobek and haroeris.  Sail to Aswan and overnight. Evening entertainment. (B,L,D)

Friday:  Visit the dam and the Temple of Philae.  Enjoy a Felucca (native sailboat) ride on the Nile sailing by Elephantine island and the Agha Khan mausoleum.  Evening entertainment. O/N Aswan (B,L,D)

Saturday:  Disembark and enjoy a day in Aswan. Our staff will take you to the Basma hotel to wait for your departure on the evening train to Cairo.  The train boards about 5PM. O/N Train. (B on the cruise ship, D on the train) NOTE:  We can arrange a visit to Abu Simbel before returning to Cairo.

Sunday: Arrive Cairo about 6AM where our staff will transfer you to the Sheraton Heliopolis hotel (or similar) so you can refresh before your international departure.  Our staff will transfer you to the airport, assist with departure formalities and checking in for your international flight.

Tour includes:  Transfers relating to the tour, Hotels based on double occupancy, 5* cruise with outside, Nile view air-conditioned (individually controlled) cabin featuring private baths, meals as outlined by B: breakfast, L: lunch, D: dinner, First class sleeper train to Luxor/from Aswan with private cabin, private tours in Cairo with an air-conditioned car w/driver and licensed English speaking Egyptologist, antiquity site tours on the cruise with a small group of English speaking guests, service charges and taxes.  Travel insurance for those people departing the USA or Canada.
