Garfield "A Cat and His Music"

October 28, 1995 10:00 & 11:30 A.M. Hemmle Hall, Texas Tech University Campus, Lubbock, Texas

When Garfield and his faithful sidekick, Odie, face off with Maestro Albert-George Schram and the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra, the adventure begins. The show will delight audiences of every age, especially the under-10 set! An advocate of the benefits of using one's imaginative powers in conjunction with music, this classic cat's deep appreciation for composers such as Haydn, Brahms, Strauss and Grieg persuades young listeners of classical music's value. Our chubby, lasagna-munching friend is wonderfully adept at impressing on youthful fans the listening pleasures inherent in such compositions as Hall of the Mountain King, Voices of Spring and March of the Toreadors. The kids will also love seeing Garfield save the day as "The Caped Avenger", and Odie leading a grand circus act. Here you will find all the makings of a madcap musical adventure - one that is vastly entertaining and very educational, too. Whatever you do, bring your kids!
