The course is designed to acquaint students with consumer health problems, environment, the body systems, nutrition, reproduction, infectious and noninfectious diseases, AIDS, mental health, family life, tobacco, alcohol and drugs, first aid, and skills in emergency care of persons choking or not breathing. This is an elective. This course is designed to acquaint students with making life style choices that affect personal wellness, current health issues and safety, health and safety occupations, treatment for cardiovascular disease and cancer, personal well-being, public health agencies, first aid, and CPR.
