PRE-KINDERGARTEN

Program Description: Oral language development is the primary goal of the pre-kindergarten program. Learning to speak comes before learning any other form of communication. Specific language activities include talking individually about experiences; large and small group discussions; using and talking about articles commonly found in the home, school, and community; experiencing books through read-aloud, flannelgraph, and drama; creating stories and conversations with puppets, and role-playing. The program also assists children in adjusting to a school setting and feeling good about themselves.

Program Goal: The goal of pre-kindergarten instruction is oral language development.
