Journalism
This is an introductory course in journalism. Journalistic techniques presented in the classroom include reporting, editing, special writing, and photojournalism. A newspaper or newsletter is produced as a laboratory project. (Dunbar) (3230100)

Media Literacy and Critical Viewing
Students develop an understanding of media through a survey and analysis both of educational and commercial television programming. Students develop basic skills in video production and performance through practice and critique and their own work. (Cavazos) (90022200)

Speech
This course introduces students to skills that may be developed in communication with others, in informing others, in expressing and responding to feelings, in persuading, and in participating in social situations that utilize these skills. (Dunbar) (3243600)

Theatre Arts
Theatre Arts is designed for those students who are interested in a fine arts program. Theatre Arts continues the development of self-confidence and sensory and emotional awareness through the use of movement, vocal expression, improvisation, and dramatization. The nature of performance is explored through dramatic interpretation and an introduction to basic acting techniques.
