Mission Statement:
The mission of the Lubbock Fine Arts Center is to present challenging, national and regional, artistic and cultural programs that serve as a bridge between people of all cultures.
Goals:
* To present visual and cultural arts programs;
* To place Texas artists in a national and international context;
* To encourage interaction among artists and communities;
* To encourage outreach programs in the arts though neighborhood initiatives and public art programs;
* To support artists through programming opportunities, payment of equitable artist fees, and commissioning of new works.
Exhibitions and programs feature the work of emerging and under-recognized, as well as recognized artists from the region and artists from across Texas and the United States. The Center is dedicated to presenting programs which address current cultural and social issues as well as purely artistic themes. Encouraging investigations of new concepts enhances our efforts to bridge cultural boundaries and disciplines, and promotes understanding of cultural and social differences. Outreach programs in the arts, in the form of neighborhood initiatives and public art programs, create a more fertile environment by providing young people with alternatives and encouraging creative thinking skills, shaping and nourishing future artists, and building future audiences for the arts.
