Sebni
6th Dynasty

Sebni, an official of the 6th Dynasty, served Pepi II (2246-2152 B.C.) as an expeditionary leader. His father was an official who was murdered on the coast of the Red Sea. His grandfather had also been slain while serving in Nubia. When his father died, Sebni gathered up his body, saw to his proper burial and the took command of the expedition. His mortuary inscriptions give a vivid account of the sacrifices his family made for Egypt.
