Pisentius was the Bishop of Coptos in the first three decades of the seventh century. He referred to the Persians as 'that pitiless folk'. he warned is flock in a threatening exhortation 'Let God be wroth with you and give you over into the hands of the barbarians and they humble you.' When he heard of the impending Persian invasion, he distributed all of his possessions to the poor. Shop
