| Hypatia Roman Emperors.
Hypatia was a female pagan philosopher who was stripped naked and dragged through the streets until she died, in a Christian attack in 415. Hypatia taught a number of pupils and admirers such as Synesius of Cyrene, who, oddly enough became a bishop, though perhaps after a conversion later in life. He remained deeply imbued with pagan Greek culture and retained his admiration for her until the end of his life. Shop
