| Hepzefa 12th Dynasty
Hepzefa was an official during the reign of Senwosret I as well as a nomarch of Assiut. He is most known for the contract that was on the walls in his tomb about the mortuary offerings and rituals that were to be conducted on his behalf upon his death. These contracts or wills were normally part of the rituals in Egypt, and these inscriptions gave more detailed information about the pact that was made between the dead and the priests involved in the ceremonies. Princess Sennuwy, his wife, is shown in a beautiful statue that was discovered at Kerma and now can be found in the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. Shop
