Bauerdat was an official during the 5th Dynasty and served under Izezi. Bauerdat was the leader of the expeditions to the regions located below the cataracts of the Nile. They traveled as far south as Sudan for the king. It is said that he returned to Izezi with a dwarf, probably a Deneg. Dwarfs were highly prized in the royal households in Egypt. Bauerdat, who is called Bauerded in some records, recorded his service and honors on a stela.
