Temple of Deir Al-Hager

Description

Located at the Dakhla Oasis, and dating back to the Roman period, Deir Al-Hager (Monastery of the Rock) is dedicated to Amun and his wife Mut and has inscriptions representing religious life. It is one of the few Roman ruins in the area, and has been damaged by an earthquake but is said to have been recently restored.  It was built during the rule of Nero (45-68 AD).
